REFLEXOLOGY - Research Findings

Healing
Crisis

Sometimes after being treated with medication for an infection or illness, the patient feels the symptoms go away, but the infection can remain and lies dormant within your body's system. This can explain why you or someone you know doesn't feel quite "up to par" and that feeling persists.

Reflexology treatments can stimulate your body's natural healing process and help cleanse the body of remaining infection by improving the blood supply that nourishes a "formerly" infected organ or body part.

In fact, patients in a "healing crisis" often report that after treatments, they feel an isolated symptom of their former illness come back for several days, then disappear, leaving them feeling refreshed.

For example, one patient who had not been "feeling herself for weeks" experienced significant sinus drainage after reflexology was performed on her. This happened to be one of the symptoms of the sinusitis that had been treated with medication weeks before seeing me. The patient had experienced a "healing crisis". After the treatment, the patient felt the congestion and pressure subside.

Reflexology use for cancer patients

Ten minute reflexology treatments can provide relief from pain, nausea and anxiety, according to a report from the School of Nursing, Division of Science and Design, University of Canberra, Australia.

Stress
&
PMS
In the December 1993 issue of the prestigious American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology a research paper presented by William Flocco and Dr. Terry Oleson showed reflexology reduced women's PMS symptoms by 46 per cent for the eight weeks of weekly treatments.
Correlation
between Migranes
Constipation & Acne

What is behind the cause of severe migranes? One theory is that constipation or infrequent bowel movements causes migraines.

This is because the body's failure to frequently eliminate wastes creates toxins, that are left for too long, poison your body and can manifest into migraines or acne.

When patients complain of frequent but unexplained migraines, the first area that I work on the feet is the area corresponding to the brain, intestines, rectum and head. The treatment improves circulation to these areas, helping the body heal itself in eliminating toxins.

Patients with migraines report that they feel much better after a reflexology treatment.
